Will the tape get sticky?
If your hair extensions start feeling sticky don't fret, it's a natural phase in their lifespan. The adhesive tape is intentionally designed to break down over time, and it's at your discretion to determine when the stickiness becomes bothersome. The duration of wear at a time varies based on different hair types; those with oilier scalps may notice stickiness sooner, typically within 2-3 weeks. Factors such as hair products containing sulphates or alcohols, along with natural scalp oils, can accelerate stickiness.
How many applications can I get out of one roll of tape?
With one roll of Muse Hair Extension Tape, you can get approximately 2 full applications. Each roll is designed to provide enough tape for two complete sets of extensions, with a bit of tape left over. If you're planning on doing more applications, you may want to have extra rolls on hand to ensure you have enough tape for all your needs.
Why are my tapes coming out?
If the tape on your Muse Hair Extensions is sliding out, it could be due to several factors:
- Product Buildup: Oils, conditioners, or styling products applied too close to the tape bonds can cause the adhesive to break down and lose its grip. Make sure to avoid using any heavy oils or conditioners near the roots where the extensions are applied.
- Improper Application: If the extensions aren't applied to clean, dry hair, the tape may not adhere properly. It's important to ensure that your natural hair is thoroughly washed and free of any product residues before applying the tape.
- Insufficient Pressure: The tape needs to be pressed firmly together to create a strong bond. Without enough pressure, the adhesive may not set properly, leading to slippage.
- Heat Exposure: Excessive heat from styling tools or environmental factors can weaken the tape's adhesive. Always use a heat protectant and avoid exposing the bonds to high temperatures.
- Incorrect Storage: Storing the tape in a humid or dusty environment can affect its adhesive quality. Ensure your tape is stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
